I love Israel Nash. Ive loved CCR since I heard Proud Mary as a kid. When I was 12 all I wanted to be was John Fogerty. Maybe this will grow on me and I hope it does but initially I’m disappointed. The energy and drive of the original seems to have been sucked out and instead of the fresh vibrant drive of the CCR version this seems plodding and laboured. The melody seems dumbed down and laboured and the slow rhythm takes away the energy from the song. I’m not sure adding U2 guitar sounds adds anything of value to a CCR track tbh!
